Cockroaches won’t be in FallOut 4 it seems
A study has found that insects are just a vulnerable to radiation as mammals and other more complex organisms are. In the aftermath of Chernobyl it was expected that nature would prosper without mankind being around but it seems that both vertebrates and invertebrates are equally affected by radiation.
Even in areas with relatively low levels of radiation the number of insects has decreased. The study was conducted over a two year period starting in 2006 and ending in 2008.
The study concluded that invertebrates are extremely sensitive to radiation because they spend a lot of time in or around soil especially as eggs and larvae.
