Vista OS the most unpopular Windows Operating System
Forrester Research has concluded a report on the various operating systems in use globally and the results are in. Vista is the black sheep of the family at the moment. While the report states that the adoption rate for the Vista OS may pick up in 2009 and 2010, many are simply hanging onto XP until Windows 7 is released.
Vista has currently garnered a mere 9 percent of the world market, a far cry from Microsoft’s initial claims that it would outperform XP. The report doesn’t account for OEM installations on new machines, which give Vista a significantly higher market penetration. However, in instances of Enterprise sales, Vista ranks last in Windows usage, even being beaten out by Windows 2000, which has 10 percent of the market.
However general opinion is that Vista will never be as universally hated as Windows ME.
