Interplay announced via a press release last week that they are continuing work on the Fallout MMO (we assume) codenamed Project V13. Interplay have apparently signed a deal with Bulgarian MMO developer Masthead Studios, allowing them to uses the proprietary engine that Masthead used to create Earthrise, a post-apocalyptic MMO.
Interplay have announced a public beta of Project V13 for some time in 2012, a considerable time away since development began in 2007. Masthead’s Earthrise, while in a similar setting to the Fallout universe, features far more technological advances than FO does.
The case between Bethesda and Interplay is still ongoing, meaning that Interplay could still lose the rights to the title in development.
