The Minnesota Zoo in partnership with Eduweb, an educational games company, has released a second instalment of a wildlife simulator revolving around being a wolf at Yellowstone National Park. The first release, called WolfQuest: Amethyst Mountain, sees the player exploring the wilderness, hunting elk and interacting with other wolves with the aim of finding a mate.
The second release of the simulator, Slough Creek has players picking up from the first instalment. The mated wolves have to establish a den and raise cubs, while protecting their young from predators like coyotes and bears. Players will have to mark territory by, well… peeing all over the place.
A multiplayer feature has been included with Slough Creek. Five players can join up online to hunt bull elk as a wolf pack. The game is aimed at the younger crowd and forum registration is mandatory to be able to access online multiplayer. Otherwise, the title is completely free.
