New character class and other information
Blizzard revealed the third of five classes for the impending Diablo III. Already revealed and explained by the gameplay video released recently, the Witch Doctor and Barbarian have now been joined by the Wizard class.
The Wizard was announced at Blizzcon, along with a brief detailing of his skills. Some of his magic abilities include the Magic Missile, Frost Nova and Blizzard attacks, with Diablo II’s Druid giving his Tornado spell to the newly created Wizard. This has been taken by many as a sure sign that the Druid will emphatically not be returning with the release of Diablo III.
Only the female version of the Wizard was playable at Blizzcon. There may be some splitting of hairs over calling the female Wizard a wizard, it may be a case of the Sorceress under any name…
There are two upcoming classes to be revealed by Blizzard. There have been no indications of when this information will be forthcoming.
