Heads up on Windows 7 content

Yes it was demoed and yes, you can find out some of the features here

At a recent demonstration by good ole Bill and his buddy Steve Ballmer, some of the new features that will apparently be available (we say apparently because with Microsoft, anything can happen) were shown off.

Taking a page from the iPhone’s book, a laptop with a touchscreen was used to preview the multitouch feature of Windows 7.

Essentially, the OS will allow simultaneous multiple touches on-screen to manipulate the information. There is no word yet on whether the system will support gestures as well as the multi-touch function but since it was already developed for Microsoft’s Surface platform, it stands a chance of inclusion in the finished product.

It will likely be included to compete with Apple profucts which are making a lot of use of touch and gesture functions. The new Windows OS has not got an official release date but speculation is running that it may be available as early as November 2009, with the beta releases coming some time beforehand.
