If you don’t know already, the biggest most anticipated game of the year has been released and everyone is furious with EA for it.
Spore, the brainchild of Will Wright contains such draconian DRM measurements the gaming community has risen up in arms against EA. Amazon.com has been flooded with reviews of the game and a general score of 1 star, all because consumers are angry that a game that they paid hard earned money for is in fact not theirs.
The DRM system allows users to install THEIR game a maximum of three times before they have to phone up EA and ask permission to install THEIR game another time.
While Bioware responded to consumers complaints, EA has kept dead quiet. EA hasn’t realised that SecuRom has been cracked many times before and in fact Spore was cracked a week before its launch. The number of torrents and people sharing said torrents stands at a staggering figure in excess of 30 000.
So much for DRM.
