Video games website Kotaku has unconfirmed reports that EA will be announcing the closure of Pandemic Studios, the group behind the upcoming title The Saboteur. This information was apparently given by several sources close to Electronic Arts and Pandemic.
The official announcement is apparently set to come through at 7PM GMT, so around 11 AM in United States time. This report is unconfirmed but may make up part of the 1500 job layoff recently announced by EA. 200 folks would lose their jobs if this turns out to be true.
Pandemic has already lost their Australian studio after the cancellation of a Dark Knight game and has seemingly joined the other studios that face paring down in EA’s proposed layoff plan. Pandemic has in recent years released the Mercenaries titles and was also responsible for Star Wars Battlefronts in 2004.
