We write a poem to a legend
Ode to the most popular OS, your reach was far and wide.
We remember the day that we installed you, a day that we surely will look back upon with pride.
We were amazed at your pretty blue start up screen and the welcoming message that you displayed. Gone were the days of having to worry about drivers as you knew all of them by heart.
You introduced us to a Start menu that had everything we could want, and you showed us how handy that window pane could be.
So it is with great sadness that we say goodbye old friend, your maker was surely not kind near the end.
The last of your kind are dwindling in numbers, and we fear for your survival.
Yesterday we heard the news, that you would no longer be made, but for you there is no rival.
Ah, forget it! We want DirectX 10 and you don’t have it,
so we are chucking you out with the rest of the trash.
