Panorama Publications is pleased to announce that PCFormat - the premier computing magazine for PC enthusiasts - is now being headed up by former group technology editor Nicholas Boerma.
Nicholas first joined the PCFormat team in 2006, where he launched into performing benchmarks and writing reviews of high-end PC components with gusto. In an arena where performance is king and a high quality PC sets the average reader back several months’ salaries, PCFormat’s reviewers are among the most respected technology journalists in the world.
Within months of starting his ‘dream job’ Nicholas had secured numerous South African exclusives and had a number of in-depth IT features under his belt. The quintessential gadget worshipper, Nicholas Boerma is at the forefront of technology journalism and is the perfect leader for the IT-savvy readership of PCFormat (with ABCs that almost match their UK counterparts’).
Speaking on his plans for PCFormat, Nicholas says: “I would like it to be the magazine that set my career in motion; rich, informative and completely addictive. PCFormat must be a banner for its community to rally around.” PCFormat’s website, www.pcformat.co.za, boasts 13 000 forum members and is the home for local and even international IT buffs.
“The sector is phenomenally strong in South Africa even when compared with first world markets. The local hunger for knowledge, hardware and most importantly the enjoyment factor behind it all makes it a really exciting field to be in,” says PCFormat’s new editor.
The September issue of PCFormat, now on shelves, is Nicholas’ first as editor, and features the popular “flame girl” on the cover – as voted for by the readers on the website. It comes with a double-sided DVD packed with game demos, free software and applications.
