iBust and Vodascum set to charge overkill rates
Vodascum and iBust will be launching their WBS WiMax services in October. Both companies are targeting their services at users of Telscum’s ADSL service, but in the beginning it will be targeted at SMEs.
Speeds of 512 Kbps and 1Mbps will be the start for WiMax in sunny SA, and there will be a cap (of course).
iBust starts off with a measly 5GB at 512Kbps for a whopping R855, and if you have enough cash to waste the highest option will entail spending a mind blowing R11 616.
How does iBust and Vodascum justify these exorbitant costs? They say that speeds are symmetrical, put your hands up if you run a business that needs to upload a lot.
More than likely those businesses that do upload a serious amount will be firm believers in ADSL and would not be willing to change. A decent 4 Mbps ADSL is more appealing. iBust and Vodascum need to rethink their strategy, stop with their hash smoking and target the home users with an exceptionally affordable package.
