iTunes step aside, Getmo.com.com has decided to take over the local scene in a big way.
With over 300,000 pieces of downloadable content, Getmo.com is still small; most of the content is local with a few B grade Hollywood budget films making the initial launch line up.
Local is lekker, and we are proud to see a media downloading site, or as Getmo.com like to call it “South Africa’s first all-in-one digital entertainment service” and to be fair it is all-in-one.
Getmo.com is not restricted to traditional web, for it seems that someone has been doing their homework and has seen that mobile communications are a big part of South Africa. Getmo.com is also a WAP service that provides users with unlimited basic content for a mere R40 per month with premium content being on a pay-per-download basis.
The full internet version service is R70 per month for basic content, while premium content is also pay-per-download.
