Starcraft II officially delayed

Activision-Blizzard has confirmed that the upcoming Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty will not release this year. The game has been delayed in order to launch along with the updated Battle.net portal. The release date has been shifted somewhat vaguely to the first half of 2010.

Blizzard president Mike Morhaime confirmed to Shacknews.com that the delay would not be affecting any other Blizzard titles’ release dates. There is little chance of Diablo 3 being released this year but according to Morhaime, “...it would be correct to conclude that you could expect two releases of Blizzard next year. But I will not make any conclusion as to what those titles will be.”

Fans who are getting at touch edgy can attempt to get in on the Beta for Starcraft here. Create an account, opt-in for the Beta and pray. You will need at least one Blizzard game registered to apply for the Beta
