Intel has halted the shipment of its latest 34nm SSD drives due to a serious problem. The problem occurs when a user assigns a password to the drive in the BIOS and then changes it or removes it later on. After the password has been changed or removes the data that was originally on the drive becomes corrupted. Intel in the process of implementing a firmware update to correct this problem and is only expected to continue shipping after a couple of weeks.
