Some Mac OS users are in for a bumpy ride if they are running the 10.4 or 10.5 versions of the Apple operating system. It seems that a Trojan has been identified as targeting vulnerabilities of these two versions.
The Trojan is unlikely to rock up in an inbox though except for the more clueless of users as it is part of a 31 Meg file that needs to be opened by users to become a threat.
The Trojan allows keylogging, takes photographs with the Apple iSight camera and capturing screenshots of the user’s desktop. It remains hidden by opening ports and turning off system logging on infected machines.
It would appear that virus originators are considering distributing the virus using iChat or on the peer-to-peer program Limewire in order to get the most out of the malware.
