AT&T, the American telecommunications giant, has unblocked access to 4chan on its network. Over the past couple of weeks 4chan has been under constant DDoS attack against its /b/ and /r9k/ boards.
To overcome the attacks the 4chan team filtered the specific type of attack. As a side effect some Internet users received errant traffic from one of the network switches. A few users were AT&T customers. To correct the problem AT&T filtered all traffic to and from the img.4chan.org IPs for its entire network.
News of the filtering spread on 4chan which is home to the group Anonymous which threatened to seek retribution if the filtering was not ceased. AT&T has subsequently ceased the filtering and is allowing all its customers access to the site. AT&T has yet to release any statements regarding the filtering and blocking of the 4chan IPs.
