EA has made their officially official announcement regarding Command and Conquer 4. The release date has been rather vaguely set as some time in 2010.
EA confirmed with website VG247 that the new installment will be a PC-only affair and that consoles will not be getting the next GDI vs. Nod RTS title. They have not given any reasons why a console release was not on the cards.
Videos and assets for the upcoming title will become available on 24 July, unless they are also leaked ahead of time but new features for the game will include an RPG-like system that may carry over to online play. 5v5 multiplayer and objective-based play are other new features for the series.
The game’s storyline seems set to tie up a few loose ends in C&C 3.
